Be sure to read about why we traditionally have baptisms on Easter (below the pictures).

From the earliest days of the Church it was apparent to the Church Fathers that to curtail heresies from infiltrating the doctrines of the Church converts to Christianity must be instructed in the Doctrines of the Church and have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Gospel of our Lord.
Therefore; tens of thousands; Jews, Gentiles, and Pagans were committed to study during the Lenten period and on the Even of Easter they would spend the night in prayerful vigil. They were known as Catechumens.
At Day-Break on Easter Morn they would step forward to confirm their faith, be cleansed of their sins by the sacrament of Holy Baptism, and partake in the Holy Communion of our Lord.
